D11 - Understanding the Commercial Invoice

This is a NEW compact 7-hour workshop dealing with the various invoices associated with trade – the pro-forma, the tax invoice (when exporting) and specifically the Commercial Invoice for both import and export customs as well as for banking purposes.

The day is not just a consideration of how to correctly draft a commercial invoice, but the delegate will receive hands-on instructions.

The ideal candidate will be a delegate who works in finance or operations as a daily function, but who needs to either issue or receive commercial documents without necessarily having a customs background.

Commercial invoices are very specific to a country’s legislative requirements and the workshop cannot over every eventuality, however the core issues of compliance and non-compliance are covered. The delegate is encouraged to bring examples of their (or their supplier’s) commercial invoice – but please note that no information will be shared within the group. The purpose of the actual examples is for private and confidential comparison to the norms under review.

The course fees include an electronic copy of the presentation material and a hard-back copy of the 5th Edition of Trading Words & Phrases. The delegate also receives the latest Incoterms (R) 2010 and Commercial Invoice wall charts

Course costs include lunch.
