D8a - CAPE TOWN: Merchanting & Cross-trading

This full day compact course runs for 7-hours and deals with the complexities of being the ‘middle man’ in a merchanting arrangement.

The course addresses the contractual difficulty of being both a buyer (from the supplier) and a seller (to the end user.)

Specific attention is paid to synchronizing the appropriate Commercial terms;
Changing documents to preserve anonymity;
Payment mechanisms;
Exchange Control issues;
The various VAT positions in merchanting, and
Marine Insurance complications when merchanting.

The suitable delegate should have a fair understanding of trade as this is an advanced course.

The course fees include an electronic copy of the presentation material, plus copies of the official text of Incoterms (R) 2010 and a hard-back copy of the 5th Edition of Trading Words & Phrases. The delegate also receives the latest Incoterms (R) 2010, Marine Insurance and Commercial Invoice wall charts.

Course costs include lunch.
